KAr Care is an innovative program that will accept donated serviceable used cars, make any necessary repairs, and re-sell them to qualifying families who need transportation to get to work.  The cars are sold to low-income workers with partial financing provided by sponsoring agencies.  Buyers must pay insurance, tax and registration costs.  The goal is to assist low-income working families obtain jobs or maintain employment while driving a safe and reliable vehicle that is within their means.  Cars are matched to workers by KAC’s Mobility Manager.  Donors are able to deduct the re-sale price of the donated vehicle in accordance with current tax regulations – your tax preparer can provide you with the most current guidance on allowable deductions.

KAC also accepts donations of serviceable bicycles, both new and used.  Bikes are loaned out at no cost to low-income adults searching for employment or who can bike to their job.
