Charitable Lead Trusts

A charitable lead trust allows you to provide a stream of income for KAC's work while preserving assets for your heirs.

How a Charitable Lead Trust Works

You transfer cash, securities or other assets to a trust. The trustee invests the assets, and the trust makes annual payments to KAC for a period of time you select. When the trust terminates, the remaining amount is paid to you or your heirs.

The trust may be a Charitable Lead Annuity Trust (fixed payments) or a Charitable Lead Unitrust (fixed percentage).

Benefits of a Charitable Lead Trust:

  • The satisfaction of making a meaningful gift to KAC during your lifetime.

  • Reduction in transfer tax due on amount passing to your heirs.

  • Any appreciation in trust value over the terms of the trust passes to your heirs free of gift and estate tax.

  • Control over when your heirs inherit trust assets.

We hope that you will notify us of your Charitable Lead Trust so that we may thank you and include you in our Tomorrow Club.
